1. Now as touching things offered unto idols, we know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffeth up, but charity edifieth.
1. Pour ce qui concerne les viandes sacrifiées aux idoles, nous savons que nous avons tous la connaissance. -La connaissance enfle, mais la charité édifie.
1. Ary ny amin’ny zavatra aterina amin’ny sampy, dia fantatsika fa manana fahalalana isika rehetra. Ny fahalalana mampieboebo, fa ny fitiavana no mampandroso.
2. And if any man think that he knoweth any thing, he knoweth nothing yet as he ought to know.
2. Si quelqu`un croit savoir quelque chose, il n`a pas encore connu comme il faut connaître.
2. Fa raha misy mihevitra azy ho mahalala zavatra, dia tsy mbola mahalala araka izay tokony ho fantany akory izy.
3. But if any man love God, the same is known of him.
3. Mais si quelqu`un aime Dieu, celui-là est connu de lui. -
3. Fa raha misy tia an’Andriamanitra, dia izy no fantany.
4. As concerning therefore the eating of those things that are offered in sacrifice unto idols, we know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is none other God but one.
4. Pour ce qui est donc de manger des viandes sacrifiées aux idoles, nous savons qu`il n`y a point d`idole dans le monde, et qu`il n`y a qu`un seul Dieu.
4. Noho izany, ny mikasika ny fihinanana ireo zavatra atao fanatitra ho an’ny sampy, dia fantatsika fa tsinontsinona akory ny sampy eo amin’izao tontolo izao, ary tsy misy Andriamanitra afa-tsy iray ihany.
5. For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth, (as there be gods many, and lords many,)
5. Car, s`il est des êtres qui sont appelés dieux, soit dans le ciel, soit sur la terre, comme il existe réellement plusieurs dieux et plusieurs seigneurs,
5. Fa na dia misy aza atao hoe andriamanitra, na any an-danitra, na ety an-tany (toy ny misy andriamanitra maro sy tompo maro),
6. But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.
6. néanmoins pour nous il n`y a qu`un seul Dieu, le Père, de qui viennent toutes choses et pour qui nous sommes, et un seul Seigneur, Jésus Christ, par qui sont toutes choses et par qui nous sommes.
6. "Nefa amintsika dia Andriamanitra iray ihany, dia ny Ray, Izay niavian’ny zavatra rehetra, ary isika ao Aminy; ary iray no Tompo Jesosy Kristy, Izay nahariana ny zavatra rehetra sady nahariana antsika koa."
7. Howbeit there is not in every man that knowledge: for some with conscience of the idol unto this hour eat it as a thing offered unto an idol; and their conscience being weak is defiled.
7. Mais cette connaissance n`est pas chez tous. Quelques-uns, d`après la manière dont ils envisagent encore l`idole, mangent de ces viandes comme étant sacrifiées aux idoles, et leur conscience, qui est faible, en est souillée.
7. "Kanefa tsy àry manana izany fahalalana izany avokoa ny olona rehetra; fa ny sasany, satria zatra amin’ny sampy mandraka ankehitriny, dia homana izany toy ny zavatra naterina tamin’ny sampy; ary voaloto ny fieritreretany izay malemy."
8. But meat commendeth us not to God: for neither, if we eat, are we the better; neither, if we eat not, are we the worse.
8. "Ce n`est pas un aliment qui nous rapproche de Dieu: si nous en mangeons, nous n`avons rien de plus; si nous n`en mangeons pas, nous n`avons rien de moins."
8. "Fa ny hanina tsy hampaninona antsika amin’Andriamanitra; fa na dia tsy homana aza isika, tsy matiantoka, ary na dia homana aza isika, tsy mahazo tombony."
9. But take heed lest by any means this liberty of yours become a stumblingblock to them that are weak.
9. Prenez garde, toutefois, que votre liberté ne devienne une pierre d`achoppement pour les faibles.
9. Nefa tandremo fandrao izany fahafahanareo izany ho tonga fahatafintohinana ho an’ny malemy.
10. For if any man see thee which hast knowledge sit at meat in the idol's temple, shall not the conscience of him which is weak be emboldened to eat those things which are offered to idols;
10. Car, si quelqu`un te voit, toi qui as de la connaissance, assis à table dans un temple d`idoles, sa conscience, à lui qui est faible, ne le portera-t-elle pas à manger des viandes sacrifiées aux idoles?
10. Fa raha misy mahita anao izay manam-pahalalana mipetraka mihinana eo amin’ny tempolin-tsampy, tsy hampahasahy ny fieritreretan’ny malemy hihinana ireo zavatra aterina amin’ny sampy koa va izany?
11. And through thy knowledge shall the weak brother perish, for whom Christ died?
11. Et ainsi le faible périra par ta connaissance, le frère pour lequel Christ est mort!
11. Ary ho verin’ny fahalalanao va ny rahalahy malemy izay nahafatesan’i Kristy?
12. But when ye sin so against the brethren, and wound their weak conscience, ye sin against Christ.
12. En péchant de la sorte contre les frères, et en blessant leur conscience faible, vous péchez contre Christ.
12. Fa raha manota toy izany amin’ny rahalahy ianareo, ka manimba ny fieritreretany izay malemy, dia manota amin’i Kristy ianareo.
13. Wherefore, if meat make my brother to offend, I will eat no flesh while the world standeth, lest I make my brother to offend.
13. C`est pourquoi, si un aliment scandalise mon frère, je ne mangerai jamais de viande, afin de ne pas scandaliser mon frère.
13. Koa raha ny hanina no mahatafintohina ny rahalahiko, dia tsy hihinan-kena akory aho raha mbola maharitra ny tany, fandrao mahatafintohina ny rahalahiko.
